Supporting Access and Inclusion for Students with Disabilities
A Session by Elli Weisdorf and Jordan Rappaport
About this Session
With the focus on de-streaming in Ontario high schools, many elementary schools have thought about how to ensure students, who were formerly in withdrawal programs for mathematics, can be successfully learning and supported in integrated homeroom classes. Jordan and Elli are former Math Facilitators from a school board outside of Toronto, ON, who collaborated with educators in elementary priority schools through a board pilot project to support the successful integration of elementary students who had been previously withdrawn from mathematics instruction on a long-term basis. They will share the successful strategies and approaches that surfaced through the lens of implementing High-Impact Instructional Practices in math programming anchored in universal design, critical consciousness, and culturally responsive and relevant pedagogy.
A quick note, THIS SESSION IS PRE-RECORDED.
