Paul Gilchrist

Paul Gilchrist taught at all levels of the public education system in Japan for 13 years before becoming an elementary classroom teacher for the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. He is currently a Math Facilitator, working in classrooms to support students and teachers. Paul started coding with his students in 2015. It took a couple of years before he was teaching them, and not the other way around, but since then he has taught students from kindergarten to grade 10 how to code, as well as leading a variety of PD sessions for teachers to be able to become more comfortable with coding. He is currently focusing on cross-curricular coding so that students can learn other strands and subjects more deeply through coding.
